Starting August 19, 2010, President Obama and the first Family took a 10 day vacation on Martha’s Vineyard in Vineyard Haven, Massachusetts. The family is expecting a low-keyed vacation and the president can re-charge his batteries.

On January 22, 2009, President Obama’s approval rating was 69%. His star was shinning bright and Americans expected and believed that a shift and a transformation would take place in Washington. Democrats and independents expected President Obama’s administration would change the antiquated system that is prevalent in Washington’s bureaucracy and not get caught in the government’s red tape.

On August 10, 2010, the lawmakers held a one day session, and pushed through a $26 billion job bill, that they say will save 300,000 jobs. It is ironic that the lawmakers do not have to do any research to justify their votes and decisions. The Democrats have identified a need with limited information and they felt that they needed to act before the children returned to school.

August 4, 2010, President Obama celebrated his 49th birthday alone with his friends in Chicago. Attending his 3 hour birthday dinner at the trendy Graham Eliot Restaurant was his special friends, Oprah Winfrey, Gayle King, Eric Whittaker, Mary Nesbit, and Valerie Jarrett.

This week in the Obama Administration there was a firestorm with the firing and the rehiring of a senior federal official Shirley Sherrod, who happens to be an African American woman. The Agriculture Secretary Tom Visack can use the excuse that he overreacted to a blog post, and took the information out of context. This was his mistake that only he can be held responsible for and Shirley Sherrod accepted his official apology.
