Washington, D.C.─ The National Peace Corps Association (NPCA) announced today that it has partnered with World Policy Journal to launch an essay contest on June 1 to identify the most innovative solutions to the problem of food insecurity in the rural regions of Africa.

Africa's growing wealth needs to be spread beyond the confines of powerful elites and governments must come clean about opaque mining and oil deals, a leading think-tank said. In its annual report, the Africa Progress Panel identified poor governance and creaking transport and power infrastructure as the main impediments to the continent of a billion people.
