Residential Options of Florida will Host the 2016 Partners for Progress Conference on Housing and Employment for People with Developmental Disabilities

(September 23, 2016 – Naples, FL)  Residential Options of Florida (ROOF), a statewide nonprofit based in Naples, Florida, will host the 2016 Partners for Progress conference in partnership with the Florida chapter of the Association of People Supporting EmploymentFirst (APSE). The conference will be held at the Florida Hotel and Conference Center in Orlando, Florida from October 12 through 14, 2016.

The 2016 Partners for Progress conference will provide housing and employment resources for people with developmental disabilities through workshops, panels, keynote speakers, and an exhibit hall. Professionals that serve people with developmental disabilities and self-advocates will share resources and strategies to help people with developmental disabilities achieve housing and employment success. The conference is open to anyone and specifically targets housing and employment professionals, school transition specialists, self-advocates, and their family members.

“The Partners for Progress Conference brings together housing and employment experts to share strategies for serving people with developmental disabilities,” states Sheryl Soukup, CFRE, Executive Director of ROOF. “Attendees are registered from across the state. Together they will learn how people with disabilities can live independently and work in meaningful jobs. We hope that conference attendees bring what they learn back home to share with their communities across Florida.”

Free registration is offered to self-advocates and a reduced $50 registration is offered to family members. General registration is $150 for all three days of the conference. Additional information is available via the conference website at or email
