Joining a long list of Trump supporters discarded by their boss after falling out of his favor, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi has been fired.

Bondi has since being confirmed for the position of AG made it clear that her first allegiance is to Trump, and not the Constitution or the law.
Pundits suggest that Bondi’s inability to weaponize the Department of Justice to target Trump’s political “enemies” was the principal reason for her being fired. Her handling of the Epstein Files debacle might also have played a role. Sources told the Washington Post that Bondi pleaded with Trump not to fire her, but that he could not be dissuaded.
Trump made the announcement via tweet, saying Bondi would be transitioned to a job in “the private sector.” Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, Trump’s personal criminal lawyer, will replace her. Blanche publicly supports sending ICE agents to polling places during the mid-term elections this November. “Why is there objection to sending ICE officers to polling places? Illegals can’t vote,” he commented during a CPAC meeting last month. The inverse of that question/comment is of course more relevant: Why send ICE Agents to polling places if illegals can’t vote, and won’t be going to the polls?
Lawmakers have scheduled Bondi for additional testimony before Congressional committees, but there are rumors that her new position as a civilian could render additional testimony unnecessary for Republican members. Democrats and their Republican supporters say they will push back. Congress, they argue, has the authority to subpoena anyone in the country if their testimony is deemed relevant to a congressional inquiry.
