Online forms, paper signatures and mail-ballot requests have different requirements. Here is where Orange County residents can get help.

ORANGE COUNTY — Floridians who need to register for the November 3 general election have until Monday, October 5. This weekend is the time to check a record, complete an application and determine whether any required paper signature remains outstanding. The date is listed in the Florida Division of Elections’ official calendar. State election dates
The deadline depends partly on how the application is submitted. The state’s online-registration guidance permits electronic submission through 11:59 p.m. Eastern on the final registration day. Paper applications have a close-of-business delivery deadline or must carry a postmark no later than the registration deadline. Do not assume an elections office stays open until the online cutoff. Completing fields on a screen does not always finish the process. Orange County’s supervisor says first-time Florida applicants without a Florida-issued identification card must print, sign and return their form. Some updates also require a signature, with the website prompting the applicant to complete that step. Read the final instructions before leaving the page. Orange County registration guide
The office lists in-person application options including public libraries, tax collector offices, the Center for Independent Living, WIC and DCF offices, and supervisors of elections. Availability depends on the individual location’s hours. The Orange County elections office is at 119 W. Kaley St.; its registration assistance number is 407-836-2070. English and Spanish application forms are linked from its registration page.
People already registered should check their status rather than assume they need a new application. Florida’s application instructions distinguish new registration from updates to an existing record, which generally can be made at any time; the party-change cutoff for a primary is a separate rule. Voters with questions about eligibility or a record that cannot be found should seek help from election officials. State registration application instructions
A mailed ballot requires its own request. Orange County lists October 22 at 5 p.m. as the deadline to request that a general-election ballot be mailed. The office also warns that requests from the prior federal election cycle expired: having received a mail ballot in 2024 does not establish an active request for 2026. Check the current request and use the county’s tracking service. Mail-ballot request instructions
For those planning to vote in person before Election Day, Orange County’s early-voting period is October 19 through November 1, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Registered county voters may use any of its listed early-voting locations. Check the official location list and identification requirements before making transportation plans. These sites are not operating as early-voting locations this weekend.
