TALLAHASSEE – Americans for Prosperity-Florida (AFP-FL), the leading grassroots advocacy organization against reckless governmental spending, had this to say after today’s Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, Tourism, and Economic Development vote on a Senator Latvala’s supposed economic development proposal to prop up a tried-and-failed film incentive program.
“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different result,” said state director, Chris Hudson. “Using taxpayer dollars to enrich well-connected Hollywood and entertainment industry special interests at the expense of the hardworking families and entrepenuers of Florida is not right. It’s time for politician to stand on principle and for taxpayers. We hope that before session ends, they will stand strong against all corporate welfare handouts.”
AFP-FL will score this vote on its 2016 Economic Freedom Scorecard.
