Immigration supporters protesting Trump's proposed wall

Trump’s Wall of Shame displayed pictures of South Florida officials who have endorsed Donald Trump’s anti-immigrant speech of hate and racism.
MIAMI. – Dozens of pro-immigrant activist gathered outside the Trump National Resort to unveiled “Trump’s Wall of Shame,” a paper wall displaying pictures of Florida politicians who have shamefully supported the Republican nominee’s hateful anti-immigrant rhetoric. By doing so, they have betrayed their own community. The wall included pictures of Governor Rick Scott, Senator Marco Rubio, GOP Hispanic spokeswoman Helen Aguirre Ferré, State Representatives Carlos Trujillo, Jeanette Nuñez and Jose Oliva. The protest was organized by United Families and other pro-immigrant groups, who have previously shut down other Trump’s event in Miami-Dade.
Activists point out that the Republican platform passed last week in Cleveland and Trump himself have been very clear on criminalizing immigrants and deporting millions of families should he be elected.
“We will not tolerate that Trump’s racist message penetrates our Miami, a city built by immigrant families. This protest is a message to Trump’s accomplices: we are watching them and we will not forget how they betrayed our community,” said Maria Bilbao from United Families.
“Every day millions of women contribute with their hard work to improve our communities, and we want to tell Mr. Trump that his wall is not welcome in our community. We will not accept walls that separate families, we are here to build bridges to unify us,” said Rosana Araujo, from Women Working Together USA.
Protesters also presented a symbolic invoice asking the nominee and his supporters to pay for “Trump’s Wall of Shame.”
“We will turn out to oppose Trump every time he decides to visit this city because this community can’t allow racism and xenophobia to go unaccounted. Trump has built a wall of shame between communities and we are going to make him pay for it by defeating him at the ballot box come November,” said Thomas Kennedy, an activist with United Families.
