National and international watch

National — new data, local work still needed. The Census Bureau lists September 17 releases of the 2026 Current Population Survey Annual Social and Economic Supplement and the 2025 Survey of Income and Program Participation through its microdata tools. That creates a fresh reporting resource on household conditions. This package has not calculated Central Florida estimates from those files, and no national trend should be presented as an Orange County result without the appropriate local data and uncertainty checks. International — Yemen’s humanitarian toll belongs beside the oil story. AP reported September 18 that renewed Houthi advances and attacks were threatening Saudi oil exports. Citing the United Nations humanitarian office, the report put displacement at roughly 125,000 people and said only 20 percent of the Yemen humanitarian appeal was funded. These are attributed estimates, not independently counted figures. The Central Florida follow-up is on fuel and delivery costs, but this package establishes no specific local price increase caused by an individual attack. AP via Central Florida Public Media
