REP. MARCIA FUDGE: DON’T BLAME BLACK VOTERS FOR DEMOCRATS’ ELECTION LOSSES

WASHINGTON, D. C. – Don’t blame black voters for last week’s election debacle by Democrats, says Congressional Black Caucus Chair Marcia Fudge.

Fudge, of Warrensville Heights, joined other Congressional Black Caucus members on a multi-state voter mobilization tour during the election run-up. On Monday, she released a statement to dispute any claims that Democrats’ losses of U.S. House and Senate seats were “because African Americans did not vote.”

Fudge noted that preliminary exit polls showed the African American proportion of the electorate increased over the 2010 midterms, and urged critics to “find another scapegoat. Don’t blame us!”
