On Labor Day weekend Monday, September 3, 2018 at Barnett Park, 4801 W. Colonial Drive, Orlando Florida 32808, 11am-4pm, Changing the Game for a New Generation (CTG), a not for profit 501c3 organization will hold its first annual “Family Heritage Day – Restoring the Village” event. This is a free event to the community! Bring the whole family. Come to learn, come to share and come to party with a purpose.
Changing the Game for a New Generation endeavors to stop the cycle of violent crimes in our community, and focus on our children, who are the greatest change agents for our future. Dr. Sydel LeGrande, and her team believe that education is essential to restore our community, which is the village. Many of our schools are seeing an increase in behavioral and academic problems among our students. Our community is facing generational problems, therefore we need generational solutions specifically for our young Black males and females.
From 11:00am to 1:00pm there will be a roundtable discussion about the role of education in the restoration of the black community. Dr. LeGrande will present CTG’s “Project I.A.M.” to the community and asks Business Professionals, Parents, Community Leaders, and all Stakeholders to attend this segment of the event, and stay for the fun
Outdoor festivities start at 1:00 pm with free barbecue, hot dogs and hamburgers, back to school giveaways, door prizes, dance contest with cash prizes face painting, and great music. Learn more about your family’s history on our first annual Family Heritage Day.
