In this special season, reminders of God’s special covenant with Israel surround us.
As Christians around the world prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus next week, many pastors will be preaching from the pulpits about that miraculous birth and the events surrounding it.
As the story in the book of Luke recounts, we are once again reminded of the biblical evidence of Israel’s rights to her ancient homeland. It’s a right that many so-called Christian leaders in Bethlehem and around the world refuse to recognize, choosing to ignore the documented evidence:
In Luke Chapter 1:5, it is written, “In the days of Herod, the king of Judea. . .”
Herod ruled over Judea, not the West Bank
In Luke 2:4, “Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David which is called Bethlehem. . .” into Judea, not the West Bank
Yet, even the prophet Micah in 5:2 foretold that this historic event would occur in Bethlehem Ephrathah in Judea.
Many Christian leaders in our generation have turned to the teachings of replacement theology and supercessionism saying that God is done with Israel; however, in Luke 1:33, Luke recounts the story of the angel Gabriel who visited Mary (Miriam) to inform her that she will bear a son and he will reign over the House of Jacob (Israel) forever.
At PJTN, we are dedicated to educating Christians, Jews, and all people of conscience the truth about God’s heart for Israel and His continuing faithfulness.
