(Orlando, Florida) The Orange County Library System is once again offering an opportunity for those who wish to earn their high school diploma through the Career Online High School program.
In partnership with the State of Florida, the library is offering a limited number of scholarships to qualified adults, ages 19 and up, who are looking to advance their careers, prepare for workforce entry, and continue their education. Additionally, students will receive a career certificate in one of many high-demands fields, such as Child Care and Education, Office Management, Home Care Professional and more.
Founded in 2009, Career Online High School is an online private high school diploma and career certificate program available through a number of Florida’s public libraries. Students are given 18 months to complete courses online including language arts, mathematics, social studies and science to earn their high school diploma. COHS has seen more than 13,000 students enroll in the courses since its beginning.
The Orlando Public Library will host the next graduation ceremony for students who have obtained their diplomas and certificates on May 11, 2019 at 2 p.m. featuring State Librarian Amy Johnson as the special guest speaker.
The deadline to apply is April 1, 2019. Application are evaluated on a first-come-first-served basis, so it is encouraged to complete the online self-assessment in order to qualify for enrollment. Visit ocls.info/COHS for more information and to apply today.
