Orlando, FL – The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL’s Toronto Marlies, announced today that F Brady Vail, who hails from Palm City, Florida, has been assigned to the team by the Toronto Marlies.
Vail (6-1, 196 lbs.) was drafted in the fourth round, #94 overall, by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. He has appeared in six games for the Marlies this season, picking up two PIMs. Vail played in five games with the Hamilton Bulldogs last season, and made his professional debut with Hamilton in 2011-12, scoring one goal and adding three assists in 12 games.
The Palm City, FL, native played four seasons (2010-14) in the OHL (Ontario Hockey League). In 264 games for the Windsor Spitfires, Vail tallied 77 goals to go along with 123 assists for 200 points and 168 PIM. Last season with Windsor, Vail finished tied for first on the team in goals (32) and second in assists (51) and points (83) in 67 games. He was an alternate captain for Windsor in the 2012-13 season, finishing third on the team in goals (22) and points (55).
Vail is expected to be available to the Solar Bears this weekend as the team hosts the Greenville Road Warriors at the Amway Center on Saturday, November 8, at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, November 9, at 1:00 p.m. For tickets, click here.
