David Michael Gray was allegedly caught by customer raping 2-year-old girl in Chick-fil-A restaurant in Orlando FL

ORLANDO, Fla. – A customer at a Chick-Fil-A restaurant was standing at a urinal when he saw something in the reflection of a tile on the wall that caught his attention.  He had no idea at the time that he was witnessing the rape of a baby.

The sight of a baby being bounced up and down inside the stall was unsettling.  He wasn’t sure at first if the bouncing was someone playing with the child, an attempt to stop it from crying or if something more sinister was going on.

He decided that to find out if something criminal was going on, he would flush the urinal and alert the person in the stall that someone else was present.  If the person inside the stall panicked, he thought, that would confirm something wrong was taking place.

When he flushed the toilet, the man abruptly stopped what he was doing and began hurriedly attempting to leave the stall.  The witness left to get the manager and explained what he had seen.  The police were called and the witness went back to the restroom to prevent the wheelchair-bound man from leaving.

The man, later identified as 35-year-old David Michael Gray, pulled out a stun gun and threatened to kill the witness if he did not get out of his way and let him leave.

After police arrived, they took Gray into custody and rescued the 2-year-old girl.  When police questioned him, Gray gave them the name of the child’s mother.  When police spoke to her she said Gray was a day care worker at her home.

According to police, a restaurant employee said Gray is a regular at the restaurant, and comes in at least twice a week, usually with a woman and children.

The police report said the employee saw Gray take the baby into the bathroom on other occasions, and several times saw him taking other small babies into the bathroom as well.

Gray was charged with sexual battery on a child younger than 12, lewd or lascivious battery, lewd or lascivious molestation on a child younger than 12, lewd or lascivious conduct by a person older than 17, child abuse, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and exposure of sexual organs.

He is being held without bond at the Orange County Jail.
