May 21, 2015 – Nearly 30 graduating seniors from seven Orange County Public Schools will walk across the stage with not only a high school diploma but an associate degree. Orange County Public Schools offers dual enrollment as an acceleration program that allows eligible high-school students to pursue postsecondary coursework at Valencia College while simultaneously earning credit toward high school completion.
Students in the Dual-Enrollment program have the opportunity to enroll in a combination of Advanced Placement courses, which earn college credit if they pass their exams, and Valencia College courses. The OCPS-Valencia graduates listed below have completed enough college coursework to earn their AA degree. The agreement between Orange County and Valencia College allows for dual-enrollment students to take their Valencia courses free of charge, including books. They have also completed all of their general-education requirements and are ready to pursue their college major.
