Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer invites Central Florida residents and visitors to the 9th annual Blues B-Q in Downtown Orlando on Saturday, February 28. Presented alongside community partner Star 94.5, this free event attracts visitors from across the region thanks to performances by award-winning musicians, as well as the opportunity to purchase some of Orlando’s best barbecue.
This year’s Blues B-Q will feature Grammy Award winning R&B singer Betty Wright. Also performing will be funk/R&B group The Gerry Williams Band along with CeCe Teneal and the Silkee Smoove Band. Mouth-watering barbecue will be available for purchase from Mister BBQ, Serena’s BBQ, Smokey Jay’s BBQ, Blazin Bones BBQ, Caribbean Sunshine Bakery and Johnny Henry’s BBQ.
Blues B-Q will be held on Orange Avenue in front of City Hall for the first time since 2010. The event will be the first at the newly redesigned City Commons Plaza, which was remodeled this fall to seamlessly connect with the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center Seneff Arts Plaza across Orange Avenue.

Attendees are encouraged to bring old cell phones, IPods, IPads and batteries to the event to donate to help Pathlight Home who sells the unused equipment for funding to support their efforts to provide permanent, supportive housing for the homeless.
