Randy Ross, local political activist, and three-time unsuccessful candidate for elected office, has withdrawn from the race for State Committeeman.  Ross is known in political circles to be a staunch Trump activist.  Ross was attempting to dislocate former Orange County Mayor Rich Crotty from the state committeeman position he has held for many years.  The GOP state committeewoman position is occupied by Patty Redlich, who has been in the position– unopposed– for about as many years as Crotty.

Paul Paulson, who  ran an unsuccessful campaign for Mayor last year, will replace Ross in the effort to unseat Crotty.  Attorney Melissa McGee, another Trump activist, will go head-to-head against Redlich.  Together they hope to increase the number of registered Republicans in the county.  Right now, even though Republicans control the Orange County Commission, Democrats outnumber them by almost 100,000 registered voters.
