David Desper, 28, turned himself on Sunday morning in connection with the road rage shooting death of Bianca Roberson.

David Desper, 28, quietly turned himself into authorities this morning, accompanied by his attorney.  He was promptly charged with first- and third-degree murder and reckless endangering.

Roberson was on her way home around 5:30 pm Wednesday evening when, according to police, her green Chevy Malibu and the suspect’s red pickup truck attempted to merge into the same lane.  The two cars seemed to have been jockeying for position when the suspect, according to Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan, pulled out a gun and shot Roberson in the head.

Roberson’s car then veered off the road, hit a tree and came to a stop in a ditch.  According to Hogan, she died instantly.  The suspect fled the scene and later abandoned the pickup. Police called on the driver to turn himself in for both his sake and the sake of the family.

The 40-caliber semi-automatic handgun police believed was used in the shooting was found in Desper’s bedroom.

Hogan said race does not seem to be involved in the shooting.  Desper is being held in jail without bond.
