Up to 100 people angry about Donald Trump’s shocking election victory hit the streets in protest from northern California to Seattle early Wednesday. People also gathered in downtown Oakland, California to protest the election results, causing the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) to shut down a station near downtown Oakland and interrupt service in other areas.
According to reports, protesters burned an effigy of Trump and broke out windows of the Oakland Tribune newspaper. Hundreds of also joined the protest, pouring out onto the streets in Berkeley and San Jose. Another 200 people protested in the streets in Oakland’s city limits.
In Portland, Ore., 100-plus protesters blocked traffic and a train before marching to Portland State University, chanting: “Whose streets? Our streets!” and “That’s not my president.”
