Orlando, FL – June 2, 2016 – Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer is pleased to announce the selection of Ana L. Cruz as the new Coordinator of the City of Orlando’s HOLA (Hispanic Office for Local Assistance) following the announcement of Alicia Ramirez’s retirement after 15 years with the City of Orlando.
Cruz has served Orlando residents since 2008 as Aide to District 2 City Commissioner Tony Ortiz. She is excited to further her commitment to public service and Orlando’s multicultural community in this new role.
“Being a City for everyone means providing state-of-the art amenities and multilingual services to our diverse multicultural community and for twelve years the HOLA office has been a testament to that,” said Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer. “I am confident Ana will continue the excellent service HOLA provides to residents, visitors and businesses, diversifying its services, integrating community partners and engaging volunteers to address community needs.”
As the HOLA Coordinator, Cruz will oversee the daily operations of the HOLA office, develop and maintain relationships with community partners, attend community events and distribute multilingual written resources. In addition, she will collaborate and work with the Mayor’s Multicultural Affairs Office on signature events and initiatives.
“Ms. Cruz has been a relentless servant of our community. Her skills, knowledge and experience combined with devotion to serve the public makes her the perfect coordinator for this office,” said Commissioner Ortiz. “Mrs. Ramirez has made the HOLA office a niche of great committed associates that have, for the past 12 years, supported our community with fundamental needs.”
Cruz starts in her new role on June 6, 2016. Prior to joining the City of Orlando, Cruz worked as a manager for 18 years for INROADS, Inc. which provided career counseling and placement to minority students to help them become successful in Corporate America. Cruz holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Secretarial Sciences from University of Puerto Rico.
