Planning Grant Awarded to Sanford Housing Authority

(Washington, DC) Congresswoman Corrine Brown has announced the award of a Choice Neighborhood Planning Grant for the Sanford Housing Authority.  The grant will bring about greater access to affordable housing in Sanford, Florida.

Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary, Julian Castro, has granted funds to the Sanford Housing Authority as part of an $8 million nationwide award package to various cities in an effort to develop severely distressed neighborhoods and stimulate affordable housing and economic development.

“Under the outstanding daily management of Executive Director Vivian Bryant of the Orlando Housing Authority, the Sanford Housing Authority (SHA) has transformed a troubled agency into a high performing one now financially stable and poised for redevelopment!” said  Congresswoman Brown.
