Pepper – the humanoid robot that can detect human emotions – is proving to be one of the stars of this year’s Innorobo exhibition in Lyon, France.

The first run of the machine sold out in seconds when it when it was offered to the public in Japan last month.

But the BBC’s technology correspondent Rory Cellan-Jones challenged Aldebaran Robotics’ Magali Cubier about whether the rest of the world was ready for its creation.
