Orlando Renaissance Writers’ Guild will host its 11th Annual Literacy Benefit Banquet on May 20th.  Eleven years!  Over 100 authors have showcased their newly published books at the Guild’s monthly meetings, and the organization has been responsible for giving many artists an opportunity to showcase their talent.
The Guild Guild is working on its second Poetry and Short Stories Anthology.  Authors are encouraged to submit their works now.   In addition, Ted Hollins, founder of the Guild, has recently completed the second edition to his novel Saving Grace.
At each year’s Banquet the ORWG “Writer of the Year” and “Author’s Recognition” Awards” award by acknowledging individuals that have demonstrated literary accomplishments. This year, our donations will go towards a scholarship for graduating high school seniors.
In an effort to encourage literacy and education in the local community, ORWG has donated funds to groups that provided books to preschool students, tutoring programs, and scholarships.  ORWG is known for its passion for fostering academic excellence.
The organization has benefitted many people in the local community over the years.  Donations by all interested persons are welcomed at orwriters.org, or by contacting Ted Hollins directly at 407.399.3664.
