I drove the 2026 Dodge Charger Scat Pack Plus — four-door, all-wheel drive — and at $72,455, that’s a lot of car for a lot of money. So let me tell you what I’d tell my own family.
Under the hood is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo Sixpack High-Output engine — a six, not a V8 — making 550 horsepower and 531 pound-feet through an eight-speed automatic. It’s genuinely fast, and the all-wheel drive means you can put that power down in any weather. The performance hardware is real: Brembo brakes, a limited-slip differential, launch control, line lock, and a day at Dodge’s driving school to learn how to use it. The drive modes give you honest control over how the car behaves.
There’s plenty I liked. Visibility is good for a car sitting this low. The head-up display is the clearest I’ve seen. Flip the turn signal, and a blind-spot camera pops up on the screen — genuinely useful. Drowsy-driver detection keeps an eye on you over the long haul. The fixed glass roof opens up the cabin with nothing to fiddle with. And inside, the carbon and suede with those performance buckets is a sharp place to sit.
Now the honest part — the things the showroom won’t mention. On a sunny day, glare off the top of the dashboard casts up onto the windshield, making the red stitching on the glass visible. And from my seating position, the rearview mirror blocked part of my line of sight. Both are personal. Your body isn’t mine, so go sit in it and check for yourself.
The other trade is fuel: 16 city, 23 highway, 19 combined. On this kind of power, that’s the deal you make.
My advice? Buy it if you’ll actually use the performance and the traction — and buy it to keep, long enough to get your money back out of it. If most days are a gentle commute, you’re paying for muscle you’ll never touch.
Go sit in that driver’s seat first. I’m Roosevelt. Buckle up.
