Roderick Williams was sworn in Thursday as the new Fire Chief of the Orlando Fire Department. He becomes the 19th Orlando Fire Chief with this appointment.
Born and raised in Orlando, Williams grew up in the Washington Shores and Richmond Heights neighborhoods and graduated from Jones High School. He has been a member of the Orlando Fire Department for 19 years, serving in many capacities, including Deputy Chief for the Fire Administrative Services Bureau.
As Chief, Williams will oversee the day-to-day operations of the department and serve as chief counsel to the Mayor on matters of public safety.
