If you or someone you know has an outstanding warrant out of Osceola County for a non-violent, misdemeanor offense, authorities there are offering an opportunity for you to turn yourself in and have your case settled “in a safe and non-violent environment.”
Fugitive Safe Surrender Day is a nation-wide project that was first offered in Osecola in July. 2012, largely due to the efforts of Judge Stefania Jancewicz. It is not an amnesty program, but does offer favorable considerations from the court: fines may be reduced, probation extended, or a new court date may be granted– this may be your best chance to stop running from the law, clear your outstanding warrants and avoid incarceration. Make sure you have with you a valid photo ID. No weapons or children are allowed.
